Can we count on your support this Christmas?

What a gift it is to be able to bring a smile to the face of a young person from a family experiencing mental illness!

We all know how difficult 2020 has been. Young people from families that were already experiencing mental illness can often be at a disadvantage, and the pandemic brought even greater challenges.

Every kid deserves to create happy Christmas memories. With your generous support, Kookaburra Kids can reach more young people and make Christmas 2020 one to remember, for all the right reasons!

We count on generous donors like you to help fund our Christmas Appeal. Your donation will be greatly appreciated.

For many young people in the Kookaburra Kids program, our Christmas parties are the highlight of their year.

Kookaburra Kids’ Christmas events are highly beneficial for children from families impacted by mental illness. As you might expect, the demand for invitations this year has been unprecedented, so we urgently need your help to reach our funding goal.

How we help

Kookaburra Kids is not a one-off assistance event. Our programs run throughout the year and participants are invited to attend activity days and weekend camps, and of course, our special Christmas event.

At each event, there are plenty of fun and educational opportunities. We teach our young people valuable life skills and coping mechanisms as well as how to build support and friendship networks.

Can we count on your support this Christmas?

Kookaburra Kids’ Christmas events are about so much more than just a break from the everyday

Here’s what they receive:

  • Lots of fun Christmas activities throughout the event.
  • Connection and companionship.
  • Christmas presents.
  • Opportunities to make new friends.
  • Pathway to trained counsellors.
  • Participation in a fun and engaging mental health education program.
  • Ongoing support after the event.

Fun, friends and festivities

It’s a virtual catch-up of the most festive kind! We play games, catch up with friends, exchange stories and sing a song or two.

A pathway to ongoing help

The fun, relaxed environment opens kids up to share their experiences and learn key lifelong skills that will help them at home and at school.

Finding their tribe

Kids who attend our events meet others in similar situations. They discover they’re not alone and can make friends with shared experiences.

Professional programs

Devised by clinical psychologists, our programs are proven effective in helping children avoid becoming a mental illness statistic themselves.
